# Creating a work area with specific dimensions

1. In Photoshop, go to File and choose New.
2. In the New project dialog box, set the Width and Height of your work area. Be sure to select the correct unit of measurement for your project. (Pixels are usually used for websites and web-based projects. Inches and picas are usually used for print projects.)&#x20;
3. In the Name field, give your project a name.
4. When finished, click OK.
