# Making a color image black and white

1. Select a layer to edit or create a selected area.
2. On the menu bar choose Image. Choose Adjustments and select Black & White from the fly-out menu.
3. In the Black and White control box, make sure Preview is selected. Adjust the filter controls, hue, and saturation as you see fit.
4. When finished, click OK.
