# Deleting a Text Box

1. Click the [Selection tool](https://jjloomis.gitbook.io/adobe-indesign-basics-mac-os-edition/working-with-tools/selection-tools) in the Toolbar.
2. Click within the textbox. Selection handles (white squares) will appear around the outside of the text box.
3. Press **Delete** on your keyboard.
