# Deleting Part of a Sound Bite

1. In the waveform editor, hover your **mouse pointer** near the beginning of the area you’d like to delete.
2. Click and drag the area you’d like to delete. The selected area will appear highlighted.
3. Press the **spacebar** (on keyboard) to preview the area you’d like to delete. **Note**: You can always delete a small portion of the area and then delete more.
4. Press the **Delete** key (on keyboard.)
